Notice of road closure for the Santa Claus parade

Rolling closures will affect Brick Pond Road to Wyley Street to Gray Street and a full closure will impact Coldwater Road (Gray Street to Michael Anne Drive) and Mill Street (Coldwater Road to Eplett Street) from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 2.

Notice of winter parking restrictions effective December 1

Winter parking restrictions

Although the snow has already arrived and we appreciate that many residents and others have avoided parking on the street to allow Severn's snowplows to clear snow from the roadways, a reminder that winter parking restrictions will be in effect from December 1 to March 31. Please note, parking is not allowed on any road between the hours of 12:01 a.m. to 7:00 a.m. Vehicles may be ticketed or towed regardless of snow clearing operations and weather conditions.

Notice of road closure: Lock 42 bridge on November 30

Notice of road closure

Canal Road at Lock 42 - Couchiching (4375 Canal Road) will be closed on Thursday, November 30 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. for dewatering work by Trent Severn Waterway (TSW) Parks Canada. Large equipment including a highway tractor and crane will be present in the road and work area. 

There will be no through access at the work area. A suggested detour map has been provided by TSW/Parks Canada.

Cancelled: Notice of full closure for the Hamlet swing bridge on November 30

No scheduled bridge closure

There will be no closure of the Hamlet swing bridge on Thursday, November 30, 2023 between the hours of 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. 

The Hamlet swing bridge is located at the intersection of Canning Road (Highway 49) and Peninsula Point Road, about five kilometres west of Severn Bridge.

This closure is required for the use of a crane to remove the logs placed as part of the dewatering process.

Notice of road closure for the Coldwater Welcomes Winter event

Coldwater Road (north of Michael Anne Drive to south of Gray Street/Sturgeon Bay Road) and Mill Street (east of Eplett Street to Coldwater Road) will be closed from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on November 25 for activities related to the Coldwater Welcomes Winter event.
