Revised: Well project ongoing in Bass Lake Woodlands

CORRECTION: Well construction for the Bass Lake Water Supply and Distribution system remains ongoing. Project updates will continue to be provided. 

However, the water ban has been lifted and seasonal watering restrictions are now in effect starting August 12 until November 1, 2024 for the Bass Lake Woodlands subdivision. Water for Bass Lake Woodlands comes from three ground water wells which service approximately 450 residents of the community.

Notice: Herbicide use for Giant hogweed control on the Uhthoff Trail on August 1

Details of control measures

Township of Severn will be undertaking a second application of herbicide to occurrences of Giant hogweed located along the Uhthoff Trail, primarily in the areas of Division Road and Carlyon Line, and Uhthoff Line and Foxmead Road. The first treatment was completed on June 24 and further herbicide use is needed for effective treatment. Signage will be placed in the areas of the trail that have been treated.
