Program aims to engage residents in conversations about home fire safety

Always check before you swim
Based on water testing from July 19, the SMDHU has lifted the swim advisory for Washago Centennial Beach initially placed on July 13.

Notice of road closure
Wainman Line (Mount Stephen Road to Foxmead Road) will be closed on Wednesday, July 19 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. for cross culvert replacement.
During the temporary road closure, road sections will be closed to through traffic, however the road will be open to local traffic on either ends of the closure. There will be no through traffic at 1449 Wainman Line.

Township of Severn has contracted Weedman to undertake the application of herbicide to occurrences of Giant hogweed located along the Uhthoff Trail, primarily in the areas of Division Road and Carlyon Line, and Uhthoff Line and Foxmead Road. Provincial and municipal fire bans have been lifted
The province has removed the Restricted Fire Zone (RFZ) notice for the entire fire region of Ontario (Zones 1 to 36). As a result, Severn has lifted the municipal fire ban and set the fire danger rating to moderate.
