Coldwater Fairgrounds Master Plan survey now open

Township of Severn is developing a Master Plan for the Coldwater Fairgrounds that will guide the development, enhancement, and management of the property for the next 10 to 15 years. The plan will serve as a strategic roadmap to make sure that this recreational space aligns with the evolving needs of our community.

Update January 16, 2025: The blue-green algae alert has been lifted for Tea Lake.
Township of Severn received this notification via email from J. Wallace, Program Coordinator, Safe Water, Environmental Health Department, Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit on January 16, 2025.

The County of Simcoe welcomes over 9-million visitors a year that generate about $1-billion in economic activity with an estimated 39 percent of that going towards food and beverage sales. The County has seen a dramatic increase in agri-tourism interest from urban Ontarians, as people want to learn about where their food comes from. Many primary producers are looking at agri-tourism and other on-farm diversified opportunities to create more revenue.

Outdoor rinks now open in Severn

The Washago Community Centre (4361 Hamilton Street) outdoor rink is now open. The Bass Lake Woodlands Park (1956 Pine Avenue) outdoor rink was opened earlier in January and is also available for use.
Please follow all posted guidelines and respect other ice users. Use of the rinks is at your own risk. Contact us to report any concerns or issues, such as damage or poor ice conditions.
Rink openings are weather dependent and will be updated on our website, Facebook, X, and Instagram pages.
